African music lovers were treated to a night of electrifying performances by Nigerian singer and songwriter Tiwa Savage, P-Square, and other African artistes at a white party in Dakar, Senegal. The event was organized to herald the 8th edition of the All-Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) and was attended by music enthusiasts from all over Africa.

Tiwa Savage, dressed in a mini black and white coloured dress, with lettered “T” earrings, took to the stage and appraised the Senegalese women, stating that they were indeed beautiful. She also revealed that this was her first visit to Senegal and said she was looking forward to trying the country’s famous jollof rice.

P-Square, the sensational singing duo of Peter and Paul Okoye, also thrilled the crowd with their scintillating voices and apologised for the 6-year split that the group had gone through. “There was no P-Square for 6 years, Mr P kept PSquare alive, Rude Boy kept PSquare alive, thank you, guys, for the patience,” Paul said.

As the world gears towards the 8th edition of the All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, music lovers are encouraged to keep voting intensively for their desired winners, using the voting portal live at www.afrima.org and take part in the events on social media platforms. The voting process that determines winners at AFRIMA is audited by a globally renowned auditing firm, Pricewaterhousecoopers (PWC).

The four-day event is set to kick-start on January 12th with a host country tour, school visit and gift presentation, as well as a welcome soiree in the evening in Dakar. The Africa Music Business Summit (AMBS) will be held on January 13th, featuring workshops and panel discussions on issues and opportunities within the African music industry.
