The Williams sisters, Serena and Venus Williams lost in the first round of the US Open.
The sisters who decided to make an appearance four years after their last slam together and six years on from the most recent of their 14 titles lost to 37-year-old Lucie Hradecka and 17-year-old Linda Noskova with a 6 (5)-7 4-6.
The match however was the first opening-round doubles contest ever to begin a night session on Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Serena is now left with her final tournament in singles, where she will be facing Australia’s Ajla Tomljanovic in the third round on Friday.
