The revitalization of the Ijora jetty in Lagos is part of the Federal Government’s strategy to promote economic growth.

The National Inland Waterways Authority, or NIWA, claims that wrecks have left the Ijora jetty appearing abandoned.

There is no access to the Ijora jetty due to wrecks, according to the Lagos Area Manager of NIWA, Sarat Braimah, who disclosed this on Friday when the Authority started removing wrecks from several waterways in the state.

The jetty, according to her, might be utilized for a variety of additional purposes as soon as the wrecks were taken out.

“We have done a survey analysis of what the wrecks look like and the reports have long been submitted. So, the wreck removal is commencing today and will last for the next three months.”
