The Nigerian afrobeat musician David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, teased Manchester United supporters following the Red Devils’ 4-3 UEFA Champions League loss to FC Copenhagen on Wednesday, igniting their outrage anew amid the club’s recent poor performance streak.
With the Denmark team claiming their ninth consecutive loss across all competitions, United finds themselves at the bottom of their group and facing a formidable challenge to advance to the next round of the Champions League. The team led by Erik Ten Hag has eighteen points after 11 games in the Premier League.
The loss to Copenhagen adds to their lacklustre play this season, even though they only got back to winning ways in the EPL last weekend with a 1-0 victory over Fulham. The singer was also quick to remind their supporters of their ongoing issues.
“I don’t watch ball like that … but come wetin Man U do so? Every week una dey complain enlighten me pls,” The musician posted on X with a laughing emoji.
In his response, Albert Nat Hyde wrote: “We are just one unlucky football club that make rival clubs like Chelsea who do not perform any better sleep well at night.
Another frustrated United fan wrote with a crying emoji, “Davido, that’s how we watch matches every week. I’m tired.”
“No one can explain, we just feel pains from everywhere every week,” Michaelson Hon remarked.
