Portugal and Manchester United striker, Cristiano Ronaldo has been left off his country’s team list as they prepare for the Qatar 2022 World Cup which kicks off 20th of November.
According to Portuguese coach, Fernando Santos who was speaking at a press conference in Lisbon on Wednesday, Ronaldo will not be named as part of his team that will face the Super Eagles in a friendly game, due to a stomachache.
“He is suffering from gastroenteritis and will not train today for this reason,” Santos told a press conference in Lisbon.
“He won’t be ready (to face Nigeria), he’s resting, as you know, gastritis takes a lot out of players,” Santos revealed.
Recall that the 37 years and five-time Ballon d’Or old has been in the news over his controversial interview with popular British broadcaster, Piers Morgan, where he slams Manchester United Coach, Tem Hagen, the club owners, and management, and some of the young players.
