Yemisi Jenkins MBE is a General & Applied Psychology graduate who has worked in several government ministries for over 20 years in strategic operational enforcement.
She works with Border Force at Heathrow, the busiest airport in the UK, where she is based. She also oversees the community engagement of Immigration Enforcement with Nigeria.
Yemisi Jenkins began working for Her Majesty Customs & Excise (HMCE) in the VAT office and Risk Assurance in 1999. In her capacity as E-Commerce Policy Advisor, which she assumed in 2004, she conducted research on the effects on the economy of telecommunications companies moving to low-tax nations. Her effort allowed the UK to persuade other significant European nations to modify their telecommunications regulations on the location of supplies. After completing her assignment, she was hired as the department’s complaint policy advisor, whose job it was to make sure complaints were handled properly and in coordination with the adjudicator’s office.
Yemisi is well recognised for her effort to guarantee that every member of the Border Force, regardless of ethnicity, is treated with respect and inclusion.

She is very passionate about issues of equality, diversity, and inclusion. Since 2002, she has held the position.
Yemisi assists the Regional Director for London and South England in leading the Nigerian engagement for Immigration Enforcement (IE), educating the local population about government changes to IE regulations, and facilitating community engagement between IE, the Nigeria High Commission, and the Nigerian community.
Yemisi is a prominent member of the Nigerian community in the UK; she serves as the president and a trustee on the board of the Association of British-Nigerian Law Enforcement Officers (ABLE), a philanthropic foundation founded in the UK with the goal of improving the country’s unfavourable perception of Nigeria and Nigerians there.
Under the auspices of ABLE, Yemisi continues to encourage interactions between the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), the Nigerian High Commission, various UK and Nigerian enforcement agencies, and the Nigerian Community in the UK on matters relating to immigration and visas, human and drug trafficking, youth criminality, etc.
