Yobe State Governor, Mai Buni, expressed his contentment with the by-election conducted in Yobe East Senatorial District on Saturday.
Buni, who cast his vote at the Bulturi-Yerimari polling unit in Buni-Gari, Gujba Local Government Area, commended the voters for turning out “to exercise their franchise without fear.”
The governor also noted the positive transformation in the area, once displaced but now resettled, highlighting the prevailing peace and smooth daily activities.
Buni remarked, “So far so good, I am really impressed with the level of preparation, and I am happy with the turnout. People are freely here to exercise their franchise without fear or hindrance.”
By-elections and re-runs in 26 states were held yesterday, as elections were held in 80 local government areas across 575 registration areas and 8,934 polling units.
