A Non-Government Organisation Gift For The Needy and Youth Empowerment Initiative has called on the Nigerian people to help alleviate the suffering of the less privileged through employment. The organization believes this would help to ease the burden of the difficult economy on those in need.

The Executive Director of the NGO, Ololade Olasupo-Gbonegun, made the call while visiting the Lufuwape community in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State to donate items to the less privileged in the community.

Olasupo-Gbonegun stated that it is the custom of the organization to visit remote communities, particularly during the festive period, to provide support to those in need.

After conducting field research and visiting two other communities, the organization chose to visit Lufuwape as it had not previously been reached and has a high number of less privileged individuals living in mud houses.

The Baale of the Lufuwape community, Michael Oluwunmi, welcomed the donations and noted that the community, which has existed for over 300 years, appreciates the support from the organization.

Olasupo-Gbonegun emphasized the importance of the government and other NGOs working to reduce poverty in society by creating employment opportunities and a supportive environment for people to work and earn money.
