Three African countries: Algeria, Egypt, and Tunisia have joined other European countries in sending aides and technical assistance to victims of the earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria as the death toll passed 15, 000 in the deadliest worldwide quake in over 10 years.

In the same spirit, Kenya has also pledged its support by calling on its trained medical workers to offer volunteer services and to where the rescue workers continue to pull out survivors.

South Africa’s Gift of the Givers, which is Africa’s biggest non-governmental humanitarian organisation, has also dispatched teams of rescue workers and equipment to help the huge international rescue effort.

More than 15,000 people in southern Turkey and northern Syria have been killed in the 7.8 magnitude earthquake.
