Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI) states that American entrepreneur and South African-born Elon Musk has recaptured the title of world’s richest person after beating Bernard Arnault, CEO of French luxury goods company Louis Vuitton.

As of Thursday, the business tycoon and investor’s net worth, according to BBI, was about USD 192 billion, while Arnault’s was about USD 187 billion.

The index data also reveals that with respective fortunes of USD 144 billion and USD 125 billion, philanthropist Bill Gates and founder of Amazon Jeff Bezos lag behind Musk and Arnault.

According to Information Nigeria, the index lists the richest persons in the world on a daily basis, with a detailed explanation of the computations on each billionaire’s profile page in the net worth analysis.

Musk, the CEO of Tesla, recovered the top spot on the list of the world’s richest people after shares of French businessman Bernard Arnault’s company dropped more than 2% in the most recent trade.

Along with other factors, Musk’s fortune has grown as a result of the recent spike in Tesla stock prices. They have increased by roughly 89% so far in 2023, according to data.

Notably, Musk and Arnault have been closely matched on Forbes’ list of the richest people in the world.

According to reports, after more than two months in second place, Bernard Arnault passed Musk in December 2022.
