The newest FIFA women’s rankings, which the Federation of International Football Associations announced, show Nigeria moving up two spots.

The Super Falcons got three points to climb up to 40th place from 42nd in the globe according to the rating that was announced in March.

The team of Randy Waldrum remained in top place in Africa.

The Falcons’ outstanding performance at the exhibition in Turkey played a significant role in their improvement in the standings.

After snapping out of a seven-match losing streak, the Nigeria senior women’s national team won three straight games to keep up their preparations for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will take place from July 20 to August 20.

Prior to the 2023 Women’s World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand next month, FIFA announced its final rankings on Friday.

Nigeria will play Canada in the World Cup opener on July 21.

Africa will be represented at the women’s World Cup by the Falcons, South Africa, Morocco, and Zambia.

Also, the next ranking will be made public on August 25.
