First Bank emerges as Financial Institution of the Year

At the African Export-Import Bank Pan African Business and Development Awards, First Bank of Nigeria Limited earned the Financial Institution of the Year Award.

Afreximbank held the inaugural Pan-African Business and Development Awards in Accra, Ghana, in conjunction with the Business Council for Africa, marking the institution’s 30th anniversary.

According to a statement, the award given to FirstBank was given in recognition of the bank as the pinnacle of the Pan-African spirit due to its pioneering work in promoting trade and investment across the continent, both of which have been crucial in bolstering the continent’s economies and multilateral business ties.

Dr. Adesola Adeduntan, the chief executive officer of FirstBank, commented on the awards: “We thank the organisers of the event for the recognition as it reinforces our commitment to promoting trade, finance and investment opportunities across borders which have been instrumental to the continued growth and development of the continent and the world.
