Manchester United is set to acquire the 2022 World Cup Quarter-finalist with the Netherlands, Wout Weghorst, as confirmed by journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer, which includes a £2.5m fee and a loan from Burnley, is expected to be completed today with Weghorst undergoing medical tests and signing contracts.
The move comes after Weghorst’s termination from his loan with Besiktas and could potentially see him make an appearance in Saturday’s Manchester Derby.
The acquisition of Weghorst is seen as a boost to Manchester United’s attacking options and is believed to conclude the team’s transfer business for the month.
