Mali Eagles Defeats Nigeria’s Super Eagles 2-0

In a thrilling match on Tuesday night, the Eagles of Mali triumphed over the Super Eagles of Nigeria with a score of 2-0. The Nigerian team suffered a defeat with goals scored in both halves of the game.

The lead was secured by E. Toure for Mali in the 18th minute, setting the tone for the match. Despite their efforts, Nigeria couldn’t level the score in the first half. In the 84th minute, K. Doumbia sealed the victory for Mali with a decisive strike from the center of the box.

This loss marks the first defeat for interim coach George Finidi, who took over after Jose Peseiro’s contract expired. Previously, Finidi secured a victory in his debut match against the Black Stars of Ghana in a friendly last Friday.

Reflecting on the defeat, Ghana’s national team head coach, Otto Addo, expressed that the Black Stars were unfortunate in their recent 2-1 loss to Nigeria during an international friendly match.
