Weston Hotel Nairobi, Kenya, has recently announced its sponsorship of the upcoming Duchess International Women’s Conference in Nairobi, Kenya. The conference, organized by Custodian Global Consult, the parent company of Duchess International Magazine, has garnered significant support from local individuals and organizations.

Yinka Odeajo, the managing partner of Custodian Global Consult, the parent company of Duchess International Magazines, while speaking with Custodian News expressed his excitement about this development, stating that “history is being made in Nairobi as the community embraces the initiative of supporting women and children”.

The conference, scheduled to take place from April 17 to 20, 2024, will feature themes such as Culture, Trade, Health, and Tourism, under the theme #InspireInclusion: Supporting Women and Girls In Leadership, STEM, Business, and Talent Development.

While acknowledging that women’s rights should not be confined to a single day, the conference serves as an opportunity to appreciate their contributions to society. It aims to provide a platform for women to share ideas and experiences, fostering education and empowerment. The event will address challenges faced by African women, including economic exclusion, limited political participation, lack of access to education for girls, gender-based violence, and harmful cultural practices.

The International Women’s Day Conference seeks to raise global awareness and change narratives surrounding these issues. By sensitizing and equipping women and society with progressive information, the conference aims to enable women to contribute to global development effectively.

The conference schedule includes a registration and meet-and-greet session on April 17, followed by a full-day workshop on April 18. Participants will also have the opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of Nairobi on April 19, with the main conference taking place on April 20, culminating in a dinner and awards ceremony.

Weston Hotel Nairobi’s sponsorship adds to the growing list of supporters for the conference, highlighting the importance of supporting women’s initiatives in today’s society. The event promises to be a significant platform for promoting women’s empowerment and gender equality.
