Speaking with PUNCH, Princess shared her aspirations of becoming a doctor and strutting down the runway as a model. With unwavering determination, she envisions herself walking confidently alongside other models, showcasing her unique beauty and inspiring others to embrace their individuality.
The incident that led to Princess’s amputation occurred at her mother’s shop in Ibafo. Esther Olaniran, Princess’s mother, recounted the heart-wrenching details, explaining that she had asked her daughter to fetch some nylon while she attended to a customer. Little did they know that this seemingly routine task would change their lives forever.
Esther vividly remembered helping Princess cross the road for safety, but tragedy struck when a bike collided with her daughter. Princess was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment, but their ordeal was far from over. After a few days, an unpleasant odor emanated from the injured leg, prompting Esther to seek further medical advice.
Recalling the disheartening turn of events, Esther revealed that the initial doctors claimed the case was spiritual and that there was no remedy. However, refusing to accept defeat, they sought assistance at the National Orthopaedic Hospital Igbobi in Lagos. It was there that they received the devastating news that the leg was beyond saving and amputation was the only solution.
Despite enduring such a traumatic experience at a tender age, Princess’s spirit remains unbroken. Her determination to pursue her dreams of becoming a doctor and a model serves as a testament to her resilience and strength of character.
