Empowering Women in Leadership: Tinubu Appoints Aderonke Soyombo to University Governing Council

In a significant move to strengthen the leadership of Nigeria’s federal tertiary institutions, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has approved the appointment of Mrs. Aderonke Soyombo as a member of the Governing Council of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State.

The announcement was made public through an official release detailing the newly constituted Governing Councils of various federal tertiary institutions across Nigeria, including universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. This document was signed by Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja.

Mrs. Aderonke Soyombo, currently serving as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education in Ogun State, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role. With over 30 years of teaching experience both in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, she is a distinguished educationist, business lawyer, prolific writer, and Microsoft certified professional known for her commitment to high standards and quality performance.

In addition to her educational roles, Mrs. Soyombo is actively involved in youth empowerment and development. She heads the Education and Youth Empowerment Committee of the Remo Growth and Development Foundation (RemoGDF), where she continues to make significant contributions to community development.
