The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has launched the sale of Electronic Tags (E-tags) for entry into the 24 Federal airports across Nigeria. This initiative, which commenced on Friday, May 17, is in alignment with the directive of the presidency approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

  1. Function of E-Tags
The E-tag is specially designed for the electronic collection of gate fees. It facilitates easy passage through the gates and helps reduce traffic congestion, thereby speeding up the collection process.
  2. Usage Locations
Currently, E-tags are implemented only at Lagos and Abuja airports, while entrance stickers are used in other airports across the country.
  3. Payment Details
Every motorist entering the airport vicinity is required to pay the entrance fees. Payment can be made in cash or via card, with payment machines stationed at the entrance gates.
  4. Mandatory Nature

  5. Transferability
E-tags are registered to specific vehicles and cannot be transferred. They must be affixed to the driver’s side windshield to be considered valid for entry.
  6. Parking Fees
E-tags do not cover parking fees, except for VIP tags, which provide access to the VIP parking lot.
  7. Validity Period
E-tags are valid for one year from the date of purchase.
  8. Purchase Locations and Contact Details
E-tags can be purchased at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, HOD Commercial Office (General Aviation Terminal) with contacts +234 803 463 3527 and +234 813 756 1615, as well as the Murtala Muhammed Airport, HOD Commercial Office (5th Floor) with contacts +234 803 371 3796 and +234 802 354 6030.
