Super Eagles Coach Jose Peseiro Ends Contract with NFF

Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has officially ended his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) after 22 months of service.

The 63-year-old Portuguese tactician expressed his pride and honor in coaching the Super Eagles, highlighting the dedication, sacrifice, and enthusiasm he put into the role.

In a statement posted on X, Peseiro thanked the NFF, including President Sir Amaju Pinnick, President Ibrahim Gusau, General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi, and Secretary Dayo Enebi, as well as the entire staff and players.

He described his time with the team as a privilege and expressed gratitude for being part of the Super Eagles family.

Peseiro took over as head coach in June 2022 following Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the FIFA World Cup. Under his guidance, the Super Eagles achieved success, winning the silver medal at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
